This type of gangway is actually used to inspect the roof of electric locomotives when they return to the depot. It is an indispensable installation from the storage rack for a few locomotives to the actual depot with a large fleet.

This new model is an improved version of the successful 2610.

It is inspired by the footbridge that was installed at the La Vilette depot, close to the Gare de l'Est, knowing that this footbridge will be suitable for any other area, including those electrified at 1.5 kV.


Decapod has made it easy for you to install one or two staircases, and to arrange the fences according to the position of the footbridge in relation to the track.

The gangway is made entirely of 0.2 mm photo-etched metal. The number of components is reasonable and the 3D design of this kit avoids any questionable fitting of the parts together. The assembly is therefore not particularly difficult other than mastering tin soldering. However, as with any kit of this nature, you will need to be meticulous.

The decal sheet for reproducing the "Danger of Death" plates is included in the kit.

What about the paint?  The 8216 light rustproof grey and 8217 dark rustproof grey references are perfect but the La Vilette reference is ... yellow! So there are many possibilities...
