During our participation in the international Intermodellbau fair in Dortmund in 2025, we had a very interesting encounter and are therefore pleased to announce a brand new collaboration that will delight railway modeling enthusiasts: Maketis becomes the official distributor in France of the DEKAS brand, a Danish manufacturer renowned for the quality and fidelity of its HO scale (1/87) reproductions.
A Scandinavian benchmark brand
Founded in 2011 by Kasper Bang Jensen, a miniature train enthusiast, DEKAS has established itself as a reference in the world of Nordic railway modeling. The brand offers a wide range of locomotives, railcars, wagons, and passenger cars, inspired by Danish, Swedish, and German networks.
Among the iconic models:
- The Y2 Kustpilen railcars,
- The TMX locomotives,
- The IGK refrigerated wagons,
- The Vossloh G322B diesel shunters.
Each reproduction stands out for its meticulous finish, metal details, spring buffers, and fine and precise engravings. Production is carried out in a partner factory in China, ensuring consistent quality and rigorous control.
In addition to its own range, DEKAS collaborates with other European brands to design and produce models that are increasingly faithful to trains operating on Northern European networks.
DEKAS has notably participated in the design and production of wagons for the Exact-train brand, known for its high quality standards. This collaboration demonstrates DEKAS's high level of expertise, serving faithful models with impeccable finishes.
An opening to the French market
We are particularly pleased to present, as the first available model, the TWA Laads 800B double low-floor flat wagon.
This wagon, intended for the transport of heavy vehicles, is regularly observed in France, notably in military convoys (excluding tank transport). Its low chassis and load capacity make it a choice element for reproducing modern trains or realistic military trains in HO scale.

A promising collaboration
This partnership marks the beginning of active collaboration with the manufacturer, aiming to evolve the DEKAS catalog by integrating more references compatible with the French railway network. Indeed, Maketis aims to offer French modelers models that have actually circulated or still circulate on the French railway network. Several development avenues have already been discussed, and we hope to expand the offer over the coming years.
