This type of platform shelter is an SNCF standard found throughout France with minor variations. It has been installed since the end of the 1960s to the 1980s, generally during the modernisation of a station and its platforms. It has its place in the provinces as well as in the Paris suburbs.
The basic kit has 2 ends, which can be assembled together to obtain a set with only 2 support posts. However, as many intermediate posts as desired can be inserted by adding one or more copies of the complementary reference DP2632 during construction. Each DP2632 part number includes one post and increases the length of the assembly by 10 cm.
The structure is constructed in photo-etched 0.3 mm brass, with a level of detail and strength far superior to the usual plastic kits. The number of components is very reasonable and the 3D design of this kit avoids any doubtful fit of the parts to each other. The assembly does not therefore involve any particular difficulty other than the mastery of tin soldering. Nevertheless, as with any kit of this nature, meticulousness will be required.
