Railcar SNCF X 3832 "Picasso" Ep III Region South-East Analog O Chrezo 3800-01

Also known by their running number X3800 or their nickname "Picasso", these railcars were built in 251 units and operated from 1950 to 1988. Used in all regions of the SNCF and still in childhood memories of many of us, they are a logical bridge between the steam and the TGV eras. To the delight of enthusiasts, their simple design and reliability have enabled some twenty samples to be preserved by various fans associations which still operate them today.

 

The main CHREZO model features will be:

- 1 / 43.5 th Scale, Fine scale standards.

- Overall Length : 502 mm

- Runs in curves of 1028 mm radius

- Injected metal chassis

- injected plastic body, finely detailed, added-on windows

- Many details : guardrails, horns, brake lines, aerators…

- Interior arrangements of the passenger compartment, kiosk and diesel engine, detailed and accurate

- 5-poles electric motor with flywheel, transmission to the front bogie only (as in reality)

- Electrical pick-upt by the 4 axles, 1 wheeled axle

- Reversible lighting according to the direction of travel in analog

- Constant interior lighting

- Setup for optional ESU electronic equipment in the luggage compartment: DCC decoder, loudspeaker

- Screw couplings and sprung buffers.

 

The prototype chosen belongs to the series manufactured by Renault at Choisy-le-Roi and fitted with the 517G engine.
