New for 2025! Set of 5 screw couplings with variable extension by Régions & Compagnies in HO scale (1/87). Faithful to the prototype, these couplings clip into NEM pockets and allow you to equip a 6-vehicle train. Can be coupled and uncoupled easily with tweezers.
Made of black ABS.
See full description below.
Before the installation of automatic couplers on railcars and multiple units, virtually all rolling stock was equipped with screw couplings. Made up of two shackles attached to the wagon hooks and connected by a tension screw, they kept the wagons securely coupled while remaining horizontal between the buffers. Even today, all freight wagons are still fitted with this type of coupling.
The VOIA61 by Régions & Compagnies faithfully reproduces this system in HO scale (1/87) and offers a far more realistic appearance than traditional loop couplers or short couplers from other manufacturers.
Easy and quick installation: clips directly into any NEM coupling pocket, fitting takes just a few seconds.
Compatibility: only for vehicles equipped with NEM sockets. Remote uncoupling is not possible.
Strength: strong enough to pull or push long rakes of wagons or coaches without risk.
Enhanced realism: The screw coupling is at the correct height between the buffers! The coupling can be painted and weathered for an even more prototypical look.
Precautions: the buffer beam must remain clear (without brake pipes or separate coupling hooks) to avoid interference on curves.
Each coupling is made up of three parts: two holders clipped into the NEM pockets and the screw coupling piece, which slides into them. The central crank can be adjusted: with ball for eras I–IV, or without for eras V–VI.
Manufactured in black ABS and supplied as a set of 5 units, enough to equip a 6-vehicle rake.
👉 Designed by Régions & Compagnies, this screw coupling is exceptionally manufactured in China.
