Each decoration has its variants. The registration numbers, overhaul dates and many other details are different from one model to another, and the markings specific to each era are respected.
Depending on the model, the axleboxes are different, either OCEM unified type or SKF roller type.

The actual model:

STEF's Standard C or D type refrigerated wagons and its Marcel Millet derivative are well known to enthusiasts, and were produced in large numbers just after the Second World War by American manufacturers, but also by various French companies.

The first series were built between 1948 and 1951, and a further series was launched between 1957 and 1959. In all, more than 2,000 standard type C and D wagons were put into service.

These wagons had 2 doors on each side, as well as ladders at each end for access to the ice tank hatches.

The wooden walls with vertical friezes are lined with insulation.

The underside of the roof is also well insulated and covered with a coated fabric to protect against the elements.

The characteristic wind-driven "Turbino" fans mounted on the roof ensure that cold air circulates throughout the wagon, keeping the foodstuffs they carry well preserved. These are known as refrigerated wagons.

Different types of goods are transported in these wagons: early produce, fish, meat and fresh produce.

The various sub-series built belong either to STEF itself or to SNCF, which has leased them from STEF.

All the wagons bear and inaugurate STEF's new image (for the time) with the "new" STEF logo in large dark blue letters on a white painted body. They would be familiar with all the SNCF markings from the 1950s to the end of the 1970s, when the last units were reformed.

Marcel Millet, another company well known to railway enthusiasts, had wagons similar in appearance to STEF's Standard fridge.

Without being too far-fetched, we can say that all types of SNCF locomotives, as well as many locomotives belonging to foreign networks, have had the opportunity to pull at least one STEF Standard wagon, if not a trainset. This has been the case from the steam era through to more modern electric locomotives.

Even railcars such as the ABJ, X 2800, Picasso and many others have had the opportunity to carry a STEF Standard cooler on their hook!

They have travelled all over France, as well as on many foreign networks.

These wagons can be run in trainsets or in small blocks of 3, 4 or 5, or even on their own, depending on requirements.

So you can have fun with one or more wagons, on major routes as well as small country lines.

The scale model:

The model consists of 214 parts.

The body is made of injection-moulded plastic, as are the various accessories, but some parts are made of metal.

The chassis is also made from injection-moulded plastic, to ensure that the engravings are as fine as possible. It is weighted by a metal plate to ensure a smooth ride. Chassis detailing includes all the necessary components, such as brake shoes in front of the wheels, brake cylinders, air reservoirs, etc.

Roof ventilators fitted in two parts, ladders fitted with a metal anti-slip plate to decorate the platform, 2 types of signal doors depending on the model's era.

The axles are fitted with solid metal wheels insulated from the axle to NEM standards, the finest available, so that they can run on all types of track on the market.

Suspension is provided by sliding gearboxes (several models depending on the version and the era; OCEM type U1A gearbox or SKF roller gearbox), the plastic used allows effortless rolling.

The buffers are spring-loaded.

A short coupling system, compatible with Lenz coupling heads, is supplied as well as functional screw couplers.

The models are painted and decorated by pad printing according to the actual marking and graphics.

Please note that this is a limited edition model.
